Description
Please see the photos, which form part of the description.- ERA: GENUINE World War II (1939-1945). Metal was needed for the war effort so a (repurposed) half zip was used to make a dress, with fancy buttons for the rest.
- BRAND: There is no label and this delicate beauty may have been hand sewn, with excellent construction.
- SIZE: There is no size label but it seems to be a modern size 8-10.
- COLOUR: A pretty, soft, muted butter yellow which is slightly more yellow in person, due to the afternoon light "washing out" the colour. With a fine, black, etched, woodblock botanical print and black oversized buttons.
- CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition.
- COMPOSITION: There is no label but the fabric appears to be a cold rayon (feels cool to the touch and drapes beautifully). The zip is metal. The reflective, faceted buttons may be lucite.
- FEATURES: "AERO" is stamped on the zip, which authenticates it is from WWII; rare, centre waist zip with two press studs at the top to keep the waistline flat; delicate, pretty pattern; oversized, reflective faceted buttons; pussy-bow collar; sleeves to just above elbow; classic 1940s blouson silhouette (the top blouses over a tight-fitting waistband).
- LOOKS GOOD WITH: Delicate, black heels, bag and gloves. Light and airy accessories with cutouts, not chunky ones. I would wear this pretty with black seamed stockings and my black crochet snood, for a classic wartime hairdo.
- CODE: M-P-C
