Our sizing tips: Bernie’s beautiful dresses do not have a large bust area and do not have stretch so some of our customers prefer to size up so the waist is comfortable and the full gathers don’t stick out (although this is not a concern if worn with a petticoat). This can make the bust and underarm areas gape so, if you are in town, we can taper the sides of the bodice at no charge and do two fittings to make sure it fits well.

Bernie is 5 foot, 2 inches tall and her dresses fall approximately to the knee on a person of average height or less. On a 5 foot 10 inches person, the hem is 2 or 3 inches above the knee but a petticoat adds a few inches and looks good. Please note that most of our current petticoats are longer than this.
