Description
- We never know what will come through the door next...
- A lovely person from a local station brought in this SAD iron.
- It has a fuel tank, which probably used to be filled with kerosene.
- SAD irons were still used in remote areas after the adoption of electrical irons from 1914 because stations were not connected to the grid.
- SAD is from Middle English and means "solid". The base of the iron is solid. The earlier coal iron had a hollow base...imaging ironing with soot flying out!
- An authentic prop for films/ TV and photo shoots for musicians, weddings, antique events...
-
It goes well with our antique tailor's ironing board, made by Dida Joše.
